What better place to spend my 30th birthday than New York City in the company of dear friends! In April as spring was springing, flowers were blooming, and New Yorkers were shedding their winter coats I traveled to NYC for a few days. Staying with two of my favorite people  in the Greenwich Village and joined by Mr. L for the weekend we walked through parks, crossed the Brooklyn Bridge, spotted a yarn graffii piece by Agata Oleksiak, went to the theatre and a burlesque show, popped into a few art galleries, and bounced from one delicious restaurant to the next. Mr. L. is vegan so at one point we were at the porkbcentric Momofuku and the next at the delightful vegan bakery, Baby Cakes, for heart shaped doughnuts and cupcakes.  I was also happy to return to my favorite NYC restaurant, Prune, and dine at the oh so good vegan restaurant Candle 79.

Thanks to Jennifer and Justin for being such great hosts and for making my big apple birthday so special! Mr. L, you know I love traveling with you, thanks for making everyday an adventure.

Enjoy the very few (shame on me) images I took while traveling.

What better way to start your 30th year than with bacon and french toast at  La Bonbonniere. Sadly we did not spot Ethan Hawke who Jennifer has seen here.  On a happy note I did purchase a brown felt fedora before breakfast.

Just before walking across the Brooklyn Bridge I spotted this bicycle. I’m fairly certain this is the work of Agata Oleksiak. Check out her website and the link to her bicycles.

Jennifer and Justin on our way to the theatre.

This scene in the meat packing district on our way to The Highline made me laugh a little.  This Christian Louboutin wearing lady didn’t have enough umph to close the taxi door and because as she said “I’m afraid I’ll get my shoes wet,” she made the driver do the job for her.

On Easter Sunday while walking through central park on our way to the Candle Cafe we spotted this lady in full Easter regalia.

These Japanese Magnolias were absolutely gorgeous and the perfect back drop for photos in Easter finery.

Apparently the ducks in this pond don’t get any respect between little boys chasing them with sailboats and barking dogs.
